Angry Harvest
Directed by Agnieszka Holland
Nominated for an Academy Award® for Best Foreign Language Film, and directed by the fearlessly talented Agnieszka Holland (Green Border, Europa Europa), Angry Harvest is a beautifully acted drama of a forbidden romance under Nazi occupation. It is 1943 in Poland, and Leon (Armin Mueller-Stahl, Eastern Promises) is a rich Polish farmer who lives a quiet life in the middle of the forest. His life is changed forever when he finds Rosa (Elisabeth Trissenaar, Berlin Alexanderplatz), a married Jewish woman on the run from the Nazis who has collapsed from exhaustion. Leon hides her and nurses her back to health, and is tortured by his growing attraction to her. They slowly grow closer, with the entire country against them, and death at their doorstep.
