Finding Samuel Lowe: From Harlem to China
Directed by Jeanette Kong
An Afro-Chinese-Jamaican family from Harlem seeks out their grandfather who was forever separated from his 3-year old daughter, their mother, in 1920. After a 91-year separation, his grandchildren journey to China, where they find Samuel Lowe's clan of three hundred Chinese descendants. Taking viewers to Harlem, Toronto, Martha's Vineyard, three cities in Jamaica and two in China, FINDING SAMUEL LOWE is a touching story of one remarkably diverse family finding their roots and legacy.
