House Calls
Directed by Howard Zieff
Screen legend Walter Matthau (The Fortune Cookie, Charley Varrick) explores the world of middle-age dating in this laugh-out-loud ’70s rom-com! When Charley (Matthau), a recent widower, embarks on a quest to be a modern-day Casanova, he jumps from one meaningless fling to the next until he meets Ann (Glenda Jackson, A Touch of Class), a recent divorcée. The two end up on a rollercoaster romance that is a true exposé into the dating game. Directed by Howard Zieff (Private Benjamin) and featuring wonderful performances by Art Carney (The Late Show) and Richard Benjamin (Diary of a Mad Housewife), House Calls reminds us that finding love doesn’t always come easy! The hit film was later turned into a hit TV sitcom (1979-1981), starring Wayne Rogers, Lynn Redgrave, Sharon Gless and David Wayne.
