Justine: The Misfortunes of Virtue (Blu-ray)
Based on Marquis de Sade’s 1791 novel Justine:?The Misfortunes of Virtue, Chris Boger’s visually sumptuous film is a dark tale of sexual depravity and Sadean excess. Royal plaything Koo Stark stars as a virtuous innocent whose chosen path of goodness is thwarted at every turn by her cunning and amoral sister, Juliette (Lydia Lisle), whose debauched lifestyle is her only happiness.
JUSTINE is the first feature film credit of cinematographer Roger Deakins, who later shot such modern American classics as The Shawshank Redemption, O Brother, Where Art Thou? and No Country for Old Men.
